Job summary

JACAM CATALYST CAREERS is seeking a warehouse operative to safely run forklifts, move goods, and maintain equipment in a chemical manufacturing environment. The role includes handling hazardous waste, adhering to safety protocols, and assisting with waste disposal.

Overtime up to 15 hours per week may be required depending on workload. Applicants should have a GED or high school diploma, at least 2 years of forklift experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 2–4 years forklift experience is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with Hazmat clean-up and proper waste disposal is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or other power equipment to complete tasks.
• Ensure inbound/outbound products are accurate and undamaged.
• Move products from storage to other locations and load/unload trucks.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Maintain facilities and tools used in duties.
• Report spills and follow Hazmat disposal procedures.
• Work safely and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Fabricate/repair equipment as needed and ensure daily loads are completed.

Job description

Responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, load and unload merchandise. Repairs and maintains facilities as instructed. Handling, moving, and storage of hazardous waste containers, response to spills, inspection of containers, and assisting with proper waste disposal. The distribution center is a logistics based department, and as such we are required to potentially work 15 hours of overtime per week, depending on the workload

Essential Functions:

• Safely operate forklifts or any other power equipment to complete various tasks and projects assigned.
• Ensure inbound and outbound products are accurate and free of damage.
• Efficiently move products from storage to other locations in the warehouse, as well as loading and unloadingtrucks.
• Follow safety and health procedures including goggles, gloves, and other apparatus required for the safecompletion of the job.
• Maintain plant facilities, tools and other items used in the performance of the employee’s duties.
• Follow the appropriate Hazmat clean-up and disposal procedures and immediately report all spills to supervisor.
• All duties must be performed in a safe and efficient manner. Any unsafe working conditions must be reported to supervisor and corrective actions must be taken before proceeding with job.
• Fabricate, repair and maintain any equipment used in manufacturing processes if requested to do so by superiors.
• Ensure all warehouse loads for the day are complete regardless of the hours of operation

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and/or two to four years related
• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a forklift
• Must possess a valid driver’s license

Chemical manufacturing environment inside and outside of metal buildings. Employee could be faced with working in temperature extremes. Must be able to work in a chemical odors environment. Able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Helpful to be able to drive a forklift safely.
