Job summary

Quanta Manufacturing Nashville seeks a Forklift Operator to support production by moving materials, loading/unloading, and meeting daily material handling deadlines. Responsibilities include following work instructions, coordinating with Quality, Warehouse and Materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

High school diploma or equivalent and forklift certification, plus basic computer skills, are required.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Perform production support functions. Meet the daily production support requirements deadline by efficiently moving materials, while maintaining pick up deadlines.

SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for reading, understanding and following work instructions pertaining to the tasks of moving materials.
• Perform in a cross-functional environment, coordinating with other departments such Quality, Warehouse, and Materials.
• Safely operate forklift to unload and put away materials.
• Move materials to appropriate locations.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of recyclable materials.
• Assist with bailing materials for recycling processing.
• Ensure accurate inventory management.
• Actively seek ways to improve processes.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior experience in a warehouse or shipping environment.
• Forklift driver is required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Computer literate in a Windows Environment; Outlook, Excel.
• Basic math skills.
• Legible handwriting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
