Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a dependable shop worker to verify stock against work orders, set up the saw, and confirm parts meet tolerances using micrometers and calipers.

You’ll mark and label parts, follow QC procedures, and maintain a clean, safe work area while complying with safety policies. Forklift and overhead crane operation may be required, with occasional irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Mathematics: Basic arithmetic including fractions and decimals.
• Reasoning: Ability to follow detailed but straightforward instructions.
• Physical: Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk.
• Certificates: Forklift certification preferred.
• Other: Ability to work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Verify stock to work orders ( alloy, temper, gauge, size, producer, lot no, grain direction ).
• Set up saw and verify parts meet tolerances with micrometer/caliper.
• Mark and label parts per customer requirements and AMI policy.
• Inspections and stamps per QC manual; maintain clean work area.
• Operate forklift/overhead crane as required; participate in maintenance and safety duties.
