Job summary

Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay in Lancaster, PA seeks a Forests Projects Coordinator to manage tree planting projects, coordinate with contractors, and train volunteers. The role involves grant support, budgeting, and active participation in outreach and partnerships within the Forests Program.

You will work in office and field settings with occasional travel; a strong emphasis on organization, collaboration, and community engagement is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry or related field; Master’s may substitute for 1 year experience.
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience, including internships.
• Experience in project coordination and administration; knowledge of tree ecology and reforestation practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field tree planting projects, including landowner contact, plan writing, planting, maintenance, monitoring, and administration.
• Coordinate project implementation with contractors and assist throughout contracting process.
• Coordinate and train volunteers on project sites and supervise seasonal staff as needed.
• Assist in pursuing funding through grant proposals and programmatic funding efforts; manage grant budgets and reporting.
• Participate in outreach efforts, presentations and events; collaborate with partners.
• Support strategic planning and Forests Program-related tasks; contribute to partnership development.
