Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is seeking a NY Agriculture Projects Coordinator to advance conservation and climate-smart practices across Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and Central NY with travel to Northern PA. The role is remote-based and spans an 18‑month term with potential transition to a permanent position depending on funding and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agricultural science or related field; Master’s may substitute for 1 year experience.
• 2+ years relevant professional experience in the geographic area.
• Experience supervising others is a plus but not required.
• Experience working with farmers or landowners in agricultural conservation.
• Knowledge of BMPs and climate smart practices.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and implementation of agriculture BMPs across Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, Central NY, and Northern PA.
• Outreach to farmers within Alliance–corporate partnership frameworks.
• Serve as primary contact for a rolling portfolio of 25–30 farm projects.
• Provide on-site farm support as needed.
• Build relationships with farmers, partner organizations, and agencies.
• Ensure payments, invoices, procurement, reimbursements, and reporting are completed on time.
• Support grant proposals and Alliance strategic planning.
