Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the timely purchase and delivery of logs for the Sawmill, manage the log quality program, and control delivered costs. This safety-sensitive role requires a strong background in forestry or related fields and proven leadership in procurement.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Forestry, Agriculture Science, Wood Products, Supply Chain/Logistics, or Business with 3 years experience or a minimum of 7 years experience in Forestry.
• Safety oriented and capable of following safety protocols.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Timely purchase and delivery of logs for the Sawmill.
• Manage log quality program and control delivered log costs.
• Oversee woodyard operations and budget preparation.
• Forecasting and analysis; seasonal inventory management.
• Daily problem solving; team building; mentoring and coaching.
• Communicate timely with stakeholders and handle special projects.
