Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – Florida Forest Service seeks an OPS Agricultural Technician II to perform chemical treatment of invasive plants affecting forest management. You will mix and apply herbicides using various sprayers and maintain related equipment in demanding field conditions.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Class E driver license. Applicants must complete all candidate profile fields and meet the qualifying questions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

Responsibilities

• Mixing and applying chemical herbicides using hand sprayers, backpack sprayers, ATV tanks, or Truck tanks.
• Routine maintenance and repair of vehicles and spray equipment.
• Able and willing to work in occasionally extreme conditions of hard to access, hot and humid forests.
• Ability to learn and differentiate plant species.
