Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's DCNR seeks an Equipment Operator B to help maintain state forest roads, trails, and facilities while supporting wildfire response. You will operate graders, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery, perform manual maintenance work, and follow environmental best practices under supervision.

This full-time role requires a valid PA CDL and residency per PA guidelines; you will log vehicle data and assist with safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A or two years operating heavy construction equipment.
• Equivalent combination of experience or training may qualify.
• Valid PA driver's license (Class C) required; CDL required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate graders, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery for forest maintenance
• Perform manual labor and assist with maintenance work
• Construct and maintain forest roads, parking areas, and recreational trails
• Assist with wildfire prevention, suppression, and emergency response
• Follow erosion controls and best management practices during earthmoving activities
• Maintain vehicle logs and complete reports for supervisor review
