You will ensure evidence integrity and compile reports for medical examiners and law enforcement, while supporting quality control and instrument maintenance. This role requires a chemistry degree and analytical lab experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field; 2 years analytical lab experience.
Ability to operate, troubleshoot and repair specialized lab instrumentation.
Pass comprehensive background check and hold a valid Texas driver’s license.
Responsibilities
Perform ~25 complex quantitative analyses to identify drugs, metabolites, poisons, and other toxins.
Develop and maintain QC/QA programs to document validity and quality of results.
Prepare reagents; maintain supplies and calibrate/repair instruments as needed.
Evaluate assays and results for initial reporting and accuracy.
Manage a large volume of analyses in shared bench space with common instrumentation.
Provide on-call emergency holiday and weekend analytical services as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
