The New Mexico Scientific Laboratories conducts tests for infectious diseases threatening people, livestock and wildlife, as well as for hazardous materials and pollutants in our water, air and milk. The Toxicology Bureau analyzes casework submitted by law enforcement agencies throughout New Mexico, providing reports derived from GC/MS and LC/MS data.

The ideal candidate is a chemist with hands-on experience in a forensic toxicology setting, skilled in preparing chemical solutions and standards

Formación

• Experience in forensic toxicology labs performing GC/GC-MS/LC-MS analyses.
• Experience preparing chemical solutions and standards following QA standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field; 4 years substitution allowed for education/experience.

Responsabilidades

• Perform forensic analysis of biological samples in criminal and death investigations.
• Prepare legally defensible reports from GC/LC-MS data and computer reports.
• Assist with day-to-day tasks to maintain Toxicology Bureau workflow.
