Job summary

Engineering Design & Testing Corporation (EDT) seeks an Engineer-In-Charge to manage investigations of residential, commercial, and industrial structures. You will perform structural analysis, cost estimates, and field testing, while guiding case budgets and client communications.

You must be a licensed PE with 7+ years of civil/structural experience, travel for site visits, and the ability to draft thorough forensic reports and expert declarations. Hybrid Chicago/Detroit area preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer with PE license.
• 7+ years civil/structural engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel for investigations and site visits.
• Proficient in standard engineering software and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations of residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Coordinate case budgets, site visits, and deliverables with clients.
• Develop scopes of work and select resources for cases.
• Prepare forensic reports and provide expert testimony as needed.
• Maintain case status updates and liaise with regional leadership.
• Ensure compliance with codes and industry standards.
