Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Forensic Registered Nurse (RN) for St. Vincent Medical Center. The role focuses on delivering specialized nursing care to patients affected by crime and trauma, using evidence-based practice and trauma-informed care.

The position requires collaboration with multiple hospital departments and community partners. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, safe medication administration, care coordination, and active participation in quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required).
• Current RN license in state of practice (or compact).
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (required).
• BLS certification; SANE-A/SANE-P and AFN certifications within 1 year are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment and establish care plans.
• Administer medications safely according to policy and procedure.
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments and services.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain department quality assurance through peer and case reviews.
