Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Evanston Hospital in the Emergency Department seeks a Registered Nurse for the SANE Program on a per-diem basis. The RN SANE conducts medical forensic exams for adult/adolescent survivors, performing head-to-toe nursing assessments and forensic documentation with sensitivity and non-judgmental care.

Collaborating with ER physicians, survivor advocates, law enforcement and attorneys, you will participate in SANE meetings, ensure compliance with standards, and may attend court

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; IL RN licensure required.
• AA SANE training certification through the Illinois Attorney General or approved by its SANE Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of SANE with expertise in forensic collection and documentation.
• Attends SANE meetings for peer/chart review and information dissemination to ensure standards.
• Works with ED physicians, survivor advocates, law enforcement, and attorneys.
• Attends courtroom proceedings related to Swedish Hospital sexual assault cases.
