Job summary

Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL seeks an experienced RN SANE Adult to provide high-quality forensic nursing care to patients who have experienced sexual assault. The role includes performing medical-forensic exams, ensuring proper evidence collection, and supporting patient privacy and advocacy.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, document findings, coordinate with law enforcement, and participate in ongoing education to advance the SANE program.

Qualifications

• IAFN-accredited SANE A course (adult) with Illinois clinical component.
• Nursing degree (BSN or higher).
• Experience in Emergency Medicine or women's health.
• Minimum 1 year as a SANE RN in good standing (Illinois).

Responsibilities

• Provide care to sexual assault patients in hospital.
• Conduct physical assessment and forensic exam per guidelines.
• Obtain evidence with Illinois ISP kit with consent when appropriate.
• Document assessments, evidence collection and interventions.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and advocacy groups as applicable.
• Educate patients about exam, procedures, STI prevention, pregnancy prevention and follow-up.
