Job summary

Luminis Health, Inc. is seeking a Forensic Nurse Examiner to deliver specialized care through medical forensic examinations for sexual assault victims.

The role requires clinical RN experience and FNE-A/SANE-A credentials, with on-call shifts across days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The FNE-A certification and MD RN license are essential, along with BLS, and the ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, upholding chain of custody and trauma-informed care principles.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• 2 years of clinical RN experience.
• Ability to work autonomously with strong communication and customer service skills.
• Rotating on-call shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to patients with a complaint of sexual assault using the nursing process.
• Perform a complete medical forensic exam including history taking for treatment/evidence collection and a head-to-toe assessment for trauma.
• Complete documentation of the forensic record, including digital photography for injury identification/documentation.
• Maintain chain of custody for evidence collection according to regulatory guidelines.
• Administer and/or oversee all medications per program protocol.
• Provide emotional and social support resources.
• Maintain expertise on medical forensic exams, trauma-informed care, laws and evolving procedures.
• Participate in professional development, community education, staff meetings, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including law enforcement and crime labs; provide expert testimony as required.
