GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD seeks a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner-Adult/Adolescent (RN) to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to victims aged 13 and older. The role includes forensic exams, crisis intervention and coordination with ED staff, law enforcement and the court system.

Requirements include specialized SAFER training, MD RN licensure, CPR certification, and 2+ years of clinical experience, preferably in Women’s Health or emergency medicine. FNE-A certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have attended a specialized training program for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner-Adult/Adolescent.
• Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a registered nurse.
• Healthcare Provider CPR biennial.
• Prefer current FNE-A certification but will provide clinical training for RN who completed the didactic course within the past 3 months or who is registered to attend an FNE-A course.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience, preferably in Women’s Health or Emergency Medicine.

Responsabilités

• Completes evidentiary examination per established protocols and documents the examination thoroughly.
• Communicates effectively with victims, families, ED staff, law enforcement and court officers.
• Identifies victims needing immediate referrals to ED and/or psych treatment when disclosed.
• Follows SAFE procedures for laboratory specimens and medications and documents variances.
• Provides referrals to victims and family members as needed.
• Performs physical assessment and interview techniques; plans care with other disciplines.
• Coordinates discharge needs and referrals with law enforcement as appropriate.
• Performs nursing skills independently and communicates status to the team.
• Delivers patient education in a therapeutic manner to patient and family.
