Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated FNE/SANE nurse to perform forensic examinations and interviews for patients who have experienced abuse. The role requires an active RN license in the state and BLS certification, with training in forensic nursing practices.

The incumbent will collect specimens, document injuries, and conduct age-appropriate assessments while coordinating care and supporting the patient through treatment and required procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• WI nurses must complete didactic and clinical skills training before independent practice as a forensic nurse examiner.
• OAG certificate of completion required for IL-based nurses after training before practicing independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic examination and forensic interview to document abuse.
• Collect specimens, photos, and perform detailed physical/genital exams as needed.
• Ensure patient receives medical care and guidance throughout treatment.
• Coordinate resources and staff to support procedures and patient flow.
• Deliver direct patient care using nursing process and evaluate outcomes.
• Provide training and guidance to FNE/SANE staff; monitor assignments and performance.
• Maintain staffing levels and scheduling to meet productivity goals.
• Ensure compliance with medical center policies and IA FN guidelines.
• Collaborate with management to develop new programs and services.
