Job summary
Aurora Health Care in Oshkosh, WI is seeking a Forensic Nurse Examiner/SANE to perform comprehensive examinations and conduct forensic interviews of abuse victims, documenting findings for court and police proceedings. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate reporting and compassionate care.
The role includes collecting specimens, photographing injuries, and delivering patient-centered care while guiding treatments.
Qualifications
- RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification within 6 months
- Completion of an accredited nursing program
- WI nurses must complete didactic and clinical skills training before practicing independently
- IL nurses must obtain OAG certificate before practicing independently
Responsibilities
- Perform forensic examinations to document abuse for court proceedings
- Conduct forensic interviews with victims
- Collect specimens, photograph injuries, and perform detailed exams as needed
- Provide patient-centered medical care and support during treatments
- Train and supervise FNE/SANE staff and coordinate resources
- Monitor staffing and ensure policy adherence with IA FN guidelines
- Contribute to program development and service delivery
