Job summary

EFI Global, a leading firm in forensic engineering and consulting, seeks a Mechanical Engineer with a PE license and strong vehicle accident reconstruction background. The role focuses on investigating accidents, documenting evidence, and providing expert opinions for insurers and litigation support.

Preference for candidates in northern NJ and nearby areas. The position requires a PE license, a bachelor’s degree, and at least six years’ experience in related work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
• Analytical and interpretive skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts investigations of vehicles, equipment, and accident sites to document the evidence and determine the scope of damage.
• Investigates and assesses damages due to failures and determines the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
• Researches, evaluates, analyzes and tests the causation of accidents and failures.
• Collaborates with other engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports outlining the cause of the accident.
• Serves as an expert witness in court and/or in depositions.
• Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and engineering projects for clients.
• Collaborates with EFI's national team of forensic experts to leverage experiences and assist on projects.
