Job summary

DNV Energy Systems’ Incident Investigation Section is seeking a curious, technically strong Failure Analysis / Materials Engineer to help uncover why critical materials and components fail then translate those findings into insights that improve safety, reliability, and performance. This role is located in Dublin, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical or materials science engineering with focus on metals.
• Demonstrated excellence in written English communication and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel for assignments ranging from several days to several weeks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience with SEM and EDS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to investigations by conducting on-site failure analyses.
• Collaborate with operators, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams during field investigations.
• Support engineers in small to mid-sized failure analysis projects, including data review and reporting.
• Collaborate with local and global teams and learn from subject matter experts.
