Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis.
• OR an associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis.
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Official transcripts from all institutions of higher education used in the award of your degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming physical evidence and paperwork to ensure compliance with laboratory policies and evidence packaging guidelines.
• Independently evaluate submitted evidence and requests to determine if service is within the laboratory’s scope; remedy or reject when necessary.
• Represent OSP FSD in a positive, professional manner to customers under stress.
• Maintain security and protect evidence, ensuring chain of custody and handling of hazardous materials.
• Assist law enforcement, attorneys, and the public, and provide internal support for laboratory staff.
• Work with little to no supervision and exercise independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations.
• Deal with confidential issues with tact and diplomacy.
• Collaborate with other OSP personnel to meet laboratory goals.
