Job summary

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office in London, Ohio seeks an experienced Evidence Intake Technician to manage evidence receipt, storage, and chain of custody, ensuring compliance with ANAB and state policies. You will document movements in the LIMS and verify court orders and case numbers.

This full-time role supports Ohio’s crime laboratory mission, handles destruction requests, and coordinates with courts and prosecutors. Daytime hours apply, with standard 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. shifts.

Qualifications

  • Formal arithmetic education including fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Experience reading, writing and speaking English.
  • 12 months experience in a forensic laboratory or related field.
  • 6 months training or experience in inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Processes and preserves evidence and property from scenes, ensuring chain of custody.
  • Uses lab information management system to document intake activities and updates.
  • Verifies destruction requests and ensures records are accurate and complete.
  • Represents the laboratory with courts and prosecutors and responds to inquiries.
  • Testifies before courts regarding evidence integrity and chain of custody.
