West Virginia OCME seeks a supervisor for the Forensic Investigations Unit to conduct death scene investigations under the Chief Investigator. You will coordinate with law enforcement, hospitals, funeral homes, and decedent transport vendors across all counties in West Virginia.

Under the direction of the Chief Investigator, you will initiate cases in the case management database, gather comprehensive records, and ensure chain-of-custody procedures are consistently followed during decedent

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; substitution permitted on a year-for-year basis.
• Two years of full-time or equivalent paid experience in law enforcement or investigative work.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and coordinate CoME actions in death scene investigations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, first responders, and facilities across WV.
• Initiate cases in the case management system and compile background information for pathologists.
• Ensure proper chain of custody and release of decedents and personal effects.
• Consult with forensic pathologists to guide case triage and requirements.
