Responsibilities

• Answers calls from the death notification line and determines disposition of cases.
• Conducts death scene investigations when needed and documents findings with diagrams and photos.
• Prepares written investigative reports and contacts physicians and agencies for information.
• Coordinates identification of decedents and notifies next of kin.
• Receives inquiries from the public and media and releases information as permitted.
