Job summary

Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a full-time Psychologist to join the Forensic Court Evaluation Unit. The role involves comprehensive assessments, risk evaluations, and psychotherapy in an inpatient behavioral health setting, with a focus on forensic evaluations and coordination with the treatment team.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Psychology and a state-licensed psychologist credential, with several years of post-graduate and inpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Psychologist license required per state regulations.
• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology.
• Five years of post-graduate experience preferred.
• One year of experience treating inpatient behavioral health patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments to support admission, treatment planning and ongoing clinical decision-making.
• Triage assessments for the Forensic Unit.
• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based practices in inpatient settings.
• Develop and document individualized treatment plans with the treatment team.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning to support continuity of care.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical staff, nursing, and other clinicians on diagnosis and treatment strategies.
