Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities' Central State Hospital in Milledgeville seeks a highly qualified Forensic Psychologist to perform court-ordered forensic evaluations, competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, and violence risk assessments for individuals referred by the criminal justice system.

Under supervision of a hospital forensic director, you will contribute to treatment planning, report writing, and expert testimony, with certification

Qualifications

• Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Current Georgia license to practice psychology.
• One year of experience at Psychologist 1 level or equivalent.
• Preference for competency to stand trial and forensic violence risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conducts court-ordered pretrial forensic evaluations for competency and criminal responsibility.
• Completes assessments on individuals admitted to a State Forensic Psychiatric Unit.
• Conducts forensic risk assessments and other psychological testing.
• Conducts group and individual interventions as part of treatment planning.
• Provides expert testimony and reports; participates in treatment progress documentation.
