Job summary

Rimkus in Des Moines, IA, is seeking an experienced civil/structural engineer to deliver forensic consulting services for insurance, legal, industrial and other clients. You will investigate, document findings, and prepare oral and written reports, with opportunities to provide expert testimony and manage multiple projects.

The role requires a BS or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering, licensure in the state, and 5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• State licensure (PE) or ability to obtain quickly.
• 5+ years of civil/structural forensic experience preferred.
• Project management or field investigation experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims.
• Perform forensic assignments within civil/structural engineering per scope and budget.
• Field investigations including gathering evidence, interviews, and document review.
• Prepare oral and written reports detailing causes, extent of loss, and remediation.
• Manage multiple projects and coordinate with experts to produce client reports.
