The Foreman at Black Sands Development Group (BSDG) is a pivotal field leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of underground utility and site development projects throughout Central Florida. Reporting to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager, the Foreman serves as the primary on‑site representative of BSDG’s core values—Reliability, Safety, and Integrity—driving team performance and project success. This hands‑on position involves leading and developing field crews, interpreting technical plans, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring all work meets project specifications, Florida 811 "Sunshine State" standards, and local regulatory requirements. The Foreman plays a critical role in maintaining project timelines, quality benchmarks, and operational excellence, directly contributing to BSDG’s reputation as a trusted leader in infrastructure development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of equipment operators, pipe layers, and laborers to ensure high productivity, safety, and team engagement.
  • Accurately interpret civil engineering plans, blueprints, and site specifications to guide the installation of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
  • Enforce OSHA and BSDG safety standards through daily tailgate meetings and active oversight of trenching, shoring, and excavation operations.
  • Manage the timely delivery, inventory, and allocation of materials, tools, and equipment to support daily field activities.
  • Perform real‑time quality inspections to verify compliance with project requirements, Florida 811 standards, and local codes.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs, track labor hours, and provide timely updates on project progress or potential delays to the Project Manager.
  • Operate and supervise the use of heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders), ensuring proper operation, maintenance, and safety compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience in underground utility construction, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or Leadman role.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Proven expertise in pipe‑laying methods, grading, trench safety, and best practices for utility installation.
  • Valid Driver’s License (required); OSHA 10 or 30 certification is highly preferred.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor work in Florida’s climate, including lifting up to 70 lbs and sustained physical activity.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English; bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safety‑first culture and a results‑oriented approach focused on delivering high‑quality work at every stage.

Stability: We are a family‑owned company with over a decade of proven experience in Florida.

Growth: We focus on scaling our team from within and providing long‑term career paths.

Impact: Join a team that builds the essential infrastructure that allows our communities to thrive.
