Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial concrete construction experience, including supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of forming, reinforcement, placement, finishing, and curing methods.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of ACI standards, safety requirements, and best practices.
• Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate with multiple trades to maintain schedules.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the Work That Lays the Foundation

Hood Construction is seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman to lead field crews on commercial construction projects throughout the Columbia area. From foundations and structural concrete to slabs and site concrete work, you'll play a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands commercial concrete operations, takes pride in craftsmanship, and knows how to keep crews productive while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and schedule performance.

What You'll Do

As a Concrete Foreman, you'll oversee daily concrete construction activities and serve as the primary field leader for your crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct concrete crews on commercial construction projects
• Oversee all phases of concrete work, including foundations, footings, slabs, walls, columns, and flatwork
• Review and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate execution
• Coordinate with project superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, and other trades to maintain project schedules
• Monitor concrete placement activities, mix designs, finishing operations, and curing procedures
• Inspect formwork, reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, and embedments prior to concrete pours
• Ensure quality standards are met throughout all phases of construction
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies to maintain a safe jobsite
• Track daily production, complete field reports, and communicate progress to project leadership
• Identify and resolve jobsite issues proactively to minimize delays and prevent rework

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial concrete construction experience, including at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of concrete forming systems, reinforcing, placement, finishing, and curing methods
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Solid understanding of ACI standards, construction best practices, and jobsite safety requirements
• Proven ability to lead crews, coordinate activities with multiple trades, and maintain production schedules
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• ACI Flatwork Finisher Certification or similar industry credentials
• Experience working on healthcare, education, municipal, hospitality, or large-scale commercial projects
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• Experience managing multiple crew members and coordinating complex concrete placements
