Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an Experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2–5 person crew servicing Cambridge, Dover and New Philadelphia in the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions. CDL preferred, on‑site work, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Your role focuses on pruning and removal for major electric utility providers, mentoring newer staff, and maintaining equipment and safety standards on every job.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• CDL Class A or B preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in line clearance or related tree work preferred.
• Must be able to lead crews of 2–5 people.
• Willing to complete safety training as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew for pruning and removal.
• Perform safe pruning, limb removal, and tree care work.
• Inspect job sites with proper planning and execution.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an Experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson, CDL preferred, joining a team servicing the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions which includes: Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia.

Job Duties

Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
