Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a CDL Foreman for its utility line clearance team in Warwick, RI. You will supervise crews, coordinate line clearance and tree trimming for electric utilities, and ensure safe operation of tools and equipment on site.

Requirements include a CDL with airbrake endorsement and electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience; ISA Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain; high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• CDL with airbrake endorsement is required.
• Experience in electric utility tree trimming and climbing is required.
• ISA Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain is required/desired.
• Pesticide/herbicide licenses are a plus/required per state law.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crew and equipment; coordinate line clearance and tree trimming for major electric utility providers.
• Direct daily tasks, plan workloads, and ensure safety and compliance on site.
• Maintain tools and equipment; work with groundsmen and climbers as part of a crew.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity in the field of Utility Line Clearance as a CDL Foreman | Foreperson.

Job Duties

Provides crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers
Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal as well as removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects
Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks
Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber
Ability to perform all above mentioned functions

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
REQUIRED: Commercial driver’s license with airbrake endorsement
Certificates and Licenses if necessary
Pesticide license, if required by state law
Herbicide license a plus
Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain
REQUIRED: Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience
