Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Foreman/Foreperson for utility line clearance in Hartwell, GA. This on-site role requires supervising a crew, coordinating line clearance and tree trimming operations, and ensuring safe, efficient project execution.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and relevant licenses/certifications (pesticide/herbicide, line clearance, ISA Tree Worker).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required.
• Pesticide and herbicide licenses may be required by state law.
• Line clearance certification when working near utility lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.
• Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Provide crew supervision and line clearing/tree trimming services for major electric utility providers.
• Directly supervise and assist in maintenance and operation of tools and equipment.
• Plan and execute assigned work and tasks with a crew and ground support.
• Coordinate with Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Operate as part of a crew with proper safety practices.

Job Duties

• Provides crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers
• Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal as well as removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects
• Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks
• Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
• Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber
• Ability to perform all above mentioned functions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license preferred but not required
• Certificates and Licenses if necessary
• Pesticide license, if required by state law
• Herbicide license a plus
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain
• REQUIRED: Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience
