Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering a Foreman/Foreperson role in Wilson, NC, focused on utility line clearance. You will supervise a crew performing line clearance, tree trimming and related tasks for major electric utilities, ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Ideal candidates hold a HS diploma, valid driver’s license, and relevant licenses/certifications (Pesticide, Herbicide, Line Clearance, ISA Tree Worker) with a willingness to obtain additional credentials as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required.
• Pesticide license may be required by state law.
• Herbicide license a plus.
• Line clearance certification required when working near utility lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provides crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers.
• Directs crew members and equipment; plans and executes assigned work.
• Supervises and assists in maintenance and operation of tools/equipment (hands tools, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Operates as part of a crew with Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber.

Job Duties

• Provides crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers


• Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal as well as removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects


• Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks


• Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts


• Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber


• Ability to perform all above mentioned functions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license preferred but not required


• Certificates and Licenses if necessary


• Pesticide license, if required by state law


• Herbicide license a plus


• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
