Job Description

This role oversees and coordinates on‑site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. The foreman leads construction crews, manages resources, and serves as a key link between field teams and project leadership to keep work on schedule and aligned with project plans.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise, manage, and coordinate construction crews on‑site to ensure daily activities run smoothly.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans to guide construction processes and ensure accurate execution.
  • Assign tasks to crew members, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed according to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Inspect completed work regularly to verify compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and project requirements.
  • Manage resources such as materials, tools, and equipment to ensure they are used efficiently and remain available when needed.
  • Enforce on‑site safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain smooth project progression.
  • Train and mentor team members, providing guidance and feedback to improve their skills, productivity, and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, work progress, and equipment usage for reporting and project tracking.
  • Address delays, emergencies, and other issues that arise during construction, taking appropriate action to keep the project on track.
  • Coordinate and oversee carpentry, concrete, framing, and foundation construction activities as part of overall site management.
  • Support project coordination and project management construction tasks, ensuring alignment between on‑site work and overall project plans.
  • Oversee materials management on‑site, including tracking usage and ensuring timely availability of supplies.
  • Monitor and support electrical and plumbing activities on‑site to ensure they integrate smoothly with other construction work.
  • Ensure proper use and care of hand tools and other construction equipment by the crew.
Essential Skills
  • Proven ability to supervise, manage, and coordinate a construction crew effectively.
  • Strong experience in construction, including new construction and commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans.
  • Hands‑on experience with carpentry, including framing and structural work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Martinsburg, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
