Job summary

Hirschbach Motor Lines seeks a seasoned diesel shop supervisor to oversee daily shop operations, lead diesel mechanics, and ensure top safety and quality standards. You will diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks, manage parts and maintenance schedules, and mentor junior staff. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and deep knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and trailer systems.
  • Comfortable with shop software, repair tracking tools, and basic computer tasks.
  • DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance knowledge.
  • A team-focused, can-do attitude—you motivate others and lead by example.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize repairs, and stay cool under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety compliance and uphold high standards in all repairs and procedures.
  • Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and leadership; act as bridge between shop and road.
  • Train and mentor new mechanics to develop the next generation of diesel pros.
