Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a skilled Climbing Arborist to lead a 2-5 person crew outdoors in Ardmore, OK. You will prune and remove trees for utilities, manage sites, and mentor teammates while following safety standards.

Office is outdoor with varied daily views; growth opportunities depend on your effort. Requires line clearance/tree work experience, a valid license, and completion of required Davey safety courses on hire.

Qualifications

• Line clearance or related tree work experience required.
• Tree climbing experience required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-A/B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: ISA/TCIA certifications for arborist or tree worker.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation program on hire.
• Complete First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course on hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and repair or remove damaged trees.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution.
• Maintain, prepare and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and tools.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Compensation Data

Compensation based on experience is: $23.00 - $25.00 hour.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Required: Tree climbing experience
• Required: Valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
