Job summary

SkyBridge Tactical LLC in Southern California seeks foreign language role players to support military training exercises. You will portray foreign-national characters, speak in assigned language, and follow scenario scripts while trainees interact via interpreters.

Work is intermittent with training events extending over multiple days and nights across Southern California. Start date is contingent on contract award; background checks and suitability screenings apply.

Qualifications

• Language proficiency ILR 2 in Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, or Korean.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background screen.
• Basic familiarity with weapons handling and safety.
• Active SECRET clearance for cleared positions (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Portray foreign-national characters in live training scenarios, speaking in your assigned language and following the scenario script precisely.

• Wear culturally appropriate clothing and headgear, along with required protective equipment.
• Take part in scenarios involving restraint, searches, and engagement with non-lethal marking ammunition while wearing protective gear.
• When directed, after safety instruction from military staff, fire training weapons loaded with blank or marking ammunition.
• Follow all range safety instructions and direction from the Lead Role Player and military safety personnel.

Clearance: Positions are available both with and without an active SECRET clearance. Cleared candidates are strongly preferred.

Position overview

SkyBridge Tactical is seeking foreign language speakers for an anticipated contract supporting military training exercises in Southern California. Language role players portray foreign-national characters and speak in their target language. Trainees must communicate with them, often through interpreters, which builds cultural and communication skills in realistic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Portray foreign-national characters in live training scenarios, speaking in your assigned language and following the scenario script precisely.
• Interact with trainees directly and through interpreters, sustaining realistic conversation throughout the scenario.
• Wear culturally appropriate clothing and headgear, along with required protective equipment.
• Take part in scenarios involving restraint, searches, and engagement with non-lethal marking ammunition while wearing protective gear.
• When directed and after safety instruction from military staff, fire training weapons loaded with blank or marking ammunition.
• Follow all range safety instructions and direction from the Lead Role Player and military safety personnel.

Required qualifications

• Speaking proficiency in Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, or Korean at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Level 2 or equivalent. At that level you can handle everyday social conversation, discuss work, family, and current events, and be understood despite an accent.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background check and high-risk training suitability screening.
• Basic familiarity with weapons handling and safety.
• For cleared positions: an active SECRET clearance, maintained throughout employment.

Physical and safety requirements

• Able to be restrained (zip-tied) for prolonged periods and to be searched by trainees while restrained.
• Able to stand and lie prone for extended periods, with and without restraints.
• Able to wear a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard.
• Physically fit, with no limitations or medical conditions that would prevent work in austere outdoor environments and during hours of darkness.

Preferred experience

Native or heritage speakers, prior military service, previous role player experience, and familiarity with the culture and customs of the regions where your language is spoken.

Work schedule and travel

Work is intermittent and scheduled around training events, which typically run several consecutive days. Training days can last up to 12 hours and often run from afternoon into the early morning, including nights and weekends. Schedules may shift by up to two days due to weather or other delays. You will travel to training sites throughout Southern California, and some remote sites involve group lodging.

Anticipated start date: Contingent upon contract award, anticipated in late October 2026, with initial training events expected shortly after.

Employment is subject to contract award, customer approval, clearance verification (where applicable), language proficiency verification, required suitability screening, and satisfaction of all position requirements.
