Job summary

SkyBridge Tactical LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Role Player to serve as the on-site team leader for military training exercises in Southern California. You will ensure the role player team arrives prepared, performs to standard, and operates safely.

The role requires a minimum of two years in role-playing for special operations training, an active SECRET clearance, strong leadership, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Travel to multiple training sites is expected.

Qualifications

Position overview

SkyBridge Tactical is seeking an experienced Lead Role Player for an anticipated contract supporting military training exercises in Southern California. The Lead Role Player is the on-site team leader and the consistent, reliable point of contact for military training staff. They make sure the role player team arrives prepared, performs to standard, and operates safely.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for military training staff before, during, and after each exercise.
• Coordinate with training staff before each event on scenarios, schedules, staffing, and logistics, and attend evolution briefs.
• Brief, assign, and direct the role player team, keeping all personnel on script, on schedule, and in compliance with safety requirements.
• Receive, inventory, account for, and return government-issued equipment, including small arms, blanks, and marking ammunition.
• Manage adjustments caused by weather, aircraft delays, or other short-notice changes.
• Report incidents, mishaps, and equipment failures immediately to range safety personnel, and support formal incident reporting.
• Prepare or contribute to after-action reviews covering incidents, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Required qualifications

• Minimum of two consecutive years of experience as a role player supporting special operations training.
• Demonstrated familiarity with receiving, accounting, inventory, and control procedures for sensitive equipment and weapons, including small arms, blanks, and marking ammunition.
• Active SECRET clearance, maintained throughout employment.
• Proven leadership and clear verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background check and high-risk training suitability screening.

Physical and safety requirements

• Able to be restrained (zip-tied) for prolonged periods and to be searched by trainees while restrained.
• Able to stand and lie prone for extended periods, with and without restraints.
• Able to wear a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard.
• Physically fit, with no limitations or medical conditions that would prevent work in austere outdoor environments and during hours of darkness.

Preferred experience

Prior military service in a leadership role, experience leading role player or OPFOR teams, and range safety or armory experience.

Work schedule and travel

Work is intermittent and scheduled around training events, which typically run several consecutive days. Training days can last up to 12 hours and often run from afternoon into the early morning, including nights and weekends. Pre-event coordination with training staff is typically required about one week before each event. Schedules may shift by up to two days due to weather or other delays. You will travel to training sites throughout Southern California, and some remote sites involve group lodging.

Anticipated start date: Contingent upon contract award, anticipated in late October 2026, with initial training events expected shortly after.

Employment is subject to contract award, customer approval, clearance verification, required suitability screening, and satisfaction of all position requirements.
