Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA is seeking a Legal Assistant to support attorneys in Cleveland or Cincinnati, OH. The role requires handling routine case files, preparing pleadings, conducting basic research, and coordinating with clients, debtors, and courts.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of foreclosure legal assistant experience, with strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of Foreclosure Legal Assistant experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office and typing 45 words per minute.
• Must pass a detailed background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assists attorney with management of routine case files.
• Prepares non-complex pleadings, documents, and affidavits.
• Conducts basic legal research and title checks.
• Reviews files and standard documents to gather information.
• Communicates with clients, debtors, attorneys, and courts for instructions and status updates.
• Negotiates payment arrangements and asset disposition for approval.
• Processes and follows up on post judgment actions.
• Serves subpoenas, depositions, and other legal documents to witnesses and parties.
