Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Creative, smart and enthusiastic Business Intelligence Engineer to improve forecast accuracy and enable partner teams and customers to optimize supply chain decisions. You will detect, diagnose and correct forecast problems and generate metrics and insights using AWS Redshift and Tableau.

Your mission includes leading analytics, product development support, and building scalable reporting frameworks to influence senior leadership and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of SQL experience.
  • 5+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Experience extracting, transforming and cleaning large (multi-TB) data sets.
  • Experience scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL.
  • Experience with AWS technologies.
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining.
  • Experience with design of experiments and statistical analysis of results.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects using data modeling, and statistical analysis best practices to create reporting and give insight to the forecast against large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources.
  • Direct the design and implementation of analytics solutions for new product initiatives.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of analytical outputs across team deliverables.
  • Build tools to analyze large amounts of data that uncover forecasting issues and convey insights which highlight forecast performance and explain variance.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of recurring reporting frameworks.
  • Partner with product, science, and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to define success metrics and measurement approaches.
  • Guide analytics strategy during project entitlement phases.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
