Job summary

Amazon is seeking a creative and technically skilled Business Intelligence Engineer in Forecasting & Labs Analytics to improve forecast accuracy and enable cross-functional decision-making across the supply chain.

You will work with data from multiple sources using AWS Redshift and Tableau to detect issues, diagnose root causes, and deliver actionable insights that drive inventory and labor planning decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL experience.
• 5+ years of professional or military experience.
• Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets.
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with AWS technologies.
• Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining.
• Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects using data modeling and statistical analysis to create reporting and insight on forecast performance across large, multi-source datasets.
• Direct the design and implementation of analytics solutions for new product initiatives.
• Ensure quality and consistency of analytical outputs across team deliverables.
• Build tools to analyze large amounts of data that uncover forecasting issues and convey insights which highlight forecast performance and explain variance.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of recurring reporting frameworks.
• Partner with product, science, and engineering teams to define success metrics and measurement approaches.
• Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
