Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to own the end-to-end data science charter for critical IT operations workstreams, from forecasting IT service demand to designing intelligent severity triaging models and building the analytical backbone for agentic AI solutions.

You will work backwards from complex operational problems to create models and solutions that directly impact efficiency and reliability across Amazon's global IT operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with SQL and scripting languages; data science background.
• 4+ years as a data scientist building production ML models.
• Experience with multinomial logistic regression and statistical models.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (statistics, math, data science, CS, etc.).
• Experience deploying production ML models (classification, regression, forecasting).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML models for IT operations forecasting.
• Build severity classification and intelligent triaging models for thousands of tickets daily.
• Develop anomaly detection systems to identify emerging patterns in operational data.
• Create econometric frameworks to measure impact and optimize resources.
• Productionize ML models via AWS pipelines (SageMaker, Step Functions, Lambda, Redshift).
• Design experiments to validate model performance and impact.
• Develop data quality monitoring and data integrity standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into strategies.
• Communicate findings to senior leaders and mentor junior scientists.
• Contribute to multi-year science roadmap including Generative AI and agentic AI.
