Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking an Analyst, Demand Planning Salty to support U.S. demand forecasting in Hershey, PA. You will blend statistical forecasting with insights from Marketing, Sales, and Finance to drive IBM and portfolio decisions.

You will own forecasts for assigned items, analyze trends, incorporate promotions and launches, and ensure data quality to help optimize service levels and inventory while supporting financial targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Analytics, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Sales Planning, Marketing, Analytics, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own line-item demand forecasts for assigned customers, categories, and product segments.
• Analyze historical sales, shipment, promotional, and consumption trends to develop accurate demand projections.
• Integrate promotions, new product launches, planogram changes, seasonality, and baseline business trends into forecasts.
• Ensure forecast inputs are complete, accurate, and aligned with planning processes and assumptions.
• Continuously improve forecast accuracy and reduce error against targets.
• Analyze product and portfolio performance to identify risks, opportunities, and drivers.
• Prepare recurring reports and analyses of product health and forecast performance.
• Support SKU rationalization and portfolio optimization through data-driven recommendations.
• Maintain documentation of planning assumptions and forecast drivers by segment.
• Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities within the demand plan.
• Participate in scenario planning and data-driven analyses for market/portfolio changes.
• Support decision-making balancing financial performance, inventory, service levels, and customer commitments.
• Contribute to new item launch planning and cross-functional coordination.
• Maintain planning tools, forecasting systems, dashboards, trackers, and reporting templates.
• Validate data accuracy and resolve discrepancies with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain.
