Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Ford-certified technician for a direct-hire role in Michigan, at a brand-new service center. The candidate will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and engine-related issues in a fast-paced dealership setting.

We require 5+ years of current automotive experience, Ford certification (or strong training) and the ability to work in a flat-rate environment. Michigan certifications are preferred; relocation and sign-on bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of current automotive technician experience, preferably Ford dealership.
• Ford Factory Certification/Factory Training required or strongly preferred.
• Michigan state certification preferred; relocating candidates must obtain Michigan certifications.
• Experience in a flat-rate/flag-hour environment.
• Strong diagnostic capabilities across mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic scan tools and technical service information.
• Strong understanding of OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications.
• Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.
• ASE certification is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine, drivability and other systems.
• Perform repairs per manufacturer/dealership specs.

Job Details

Our client is an established automotive dealership backed by a large, nationally recognized automotive organization. Due to the expansion of its service operation and the opening of a **new, state-of-the-art service center**, the company is adding multiple experienced Ford technicians to its team.

This is a direct-hire opportunity for an experienced **Ford-certified Flat Rate Technician** who is comfortable diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and engine-related issues while working efficiently within a dealership environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify required and recommended repairs.


• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine, drivability and other vehicle-system malfunctions.


• Perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer and dealership specifications.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems, engines, components and related vehicle systems.


• Utilize Ford/OEM technical information, service procedures, diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.


• Use diagnostic scan tools and other specialized equipment to accurately identify vehicle concerns.


• Examine vehicles for additional safety or service concerns and communicate findings appropriately.


• Complete repairs efficiently and accurately while maintaining high-quality standards.


• Conduct test drives and verify that repairs have been completed properly.


• Communicate with Service Advisors and/or Dispatchers regarding additional repairs or recommendations.


• Properly document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.


• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.


• Keep customer vehicles clean and protected throughout the repair process.


• Stay current on automotive technology, factory procedures and required training.


• Follow all dealership safety, attendance, timekeeping and operating procedures.


• Work collaboratively with other technicians, service advisors, parts personnel and dealership staff.

What We're Looking For

• **5+ years of current automotive technician experience**, preferably in a Ford dealership environment.


• **Ford Factory Certification/Factory Training required or strongly preferred.**


• Michigan state certification preferred; candidates relocating from another state will need to obtain applicable Michigan certifications.


• Demonstrated experience working in a **flat-rate/flag-hour environment**.


• Strong diagnostic capabilities across mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.


• Experience using automotive diagnostic scan tools and technical service information.


• Strong understanding of OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications.


• Ability to accurately diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.


• ASE certification is preferred.


• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.


• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule

**Monday–Friday, generally 8:00 AM–5:00 PM**

The role is based in an automotive service environment and may occasionally require evening, weekend or holiday work based on business needs.

Hiring Process
