DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Team Captain – Footwear to lead the Footwear department with expert product knowledge and an exceptional athlete experience focused on fit and performance. You will coach teammates, drive sales, and ensure the department is always ready to meet athlete needs while growing your leadership career.

You will build a strong team, manage scheduling and daily operations, and uphold the company’s standards for customer service and merchandising in our Newport, Oregon

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by sharing product knowledge and following merchandising standards.
• Contribute to 30-60-90 day plans with leadership guidance and budgeting considerations.
• Develop effective schedules and assign workload to maximise efficiency while meeting goals.
• Build and lead a strong team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Enforce safety, loss prevention, and store policies while maintaining a respectful environment.
