Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Team Captain - Footwear to lead the Footwear department with expert product knowledge and a focus on fit and performance. You will coach teammates, drive sales, and ensure the department consistently meets athlete needs.

In this role, you will build a strong team, recruit and develop talent, manage daily operations, and uphold safety and merchandising standards while delivering outstanding experiences to athletes of all abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in retail or customer-facing roles.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.
• Strong customer service mindset and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences with knowledgeable product guidance and strong service standards.
• Lead and coach the footwear team, drive sales, and ensure department readiness.
• Develop plans with store leadership to support priorities, staffing, and budgets.
• Hire, onboard, and develop direct reports; manage performance and compliance.
• Ensure safety, loss prevention, and adherence to procedures.
