Job summary

Caleres is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Massachusetts to lead the store in the Store Manager’s absence and deliver the best shoe store experience for the whole family. You will motivate a team, coach selling behaviors, and ensure flawless execution of store standards while staying current on trends and brand presentation.

You will collaborate with the Store Manager on hiring, training, inventory control, scheduling, and daily operations to support peak times and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
• Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store staff.
• Ability to train and develop associates to provide engaging customer experiences and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong cognitive skills including problem solving, decision making, and financial/quantitative analysis.
• Advanced understanding of general retail practices and procedures.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.
