Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in Ohio is seeking a Team Captain – Footwear to lead a high-performing footwear department. You will coach teammates, drive sales, and ensure the department is ready to meet athlete needs while delivering outstanding experiences to athletes of all abilities.

You’ll onboard and develop staff, oversee daily operations, and partner with store leadership to achieve plan goals. The role emphasizes customer focus, coaching, and accountability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment; uphold merchandising and presentation standards.
• Together with store leadership, contribute to developing 30-60-90 day plans to support business priorities; assist with staffing and budgets.
• Develop schedules and workloads to maximize efficiency while meeting payroll and financial goals.
• Build and lead a strong team; recruit, onboard, coach, and evaluate teammates; ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Enforce safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures across the department.
