Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Team Captain – Footwear to lead the Footwear department and coach teammates to deliver expert product knowledge and exceptional athlete experiences. You will drive sales, ensure readiness to meet athlete needs, and grow your leadership career.

You will build a strong team, manage schedules, and uphold merchandising standards while delivering results that support store goals and positive customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
• Previous people leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by providing product knowledge and facilitating efficient checkout and store operations.
• Help build and lead a team in the Footwear department, including hiring, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Support department goals with staffing plans, scheduling, and adherence to budgets and merchandising standards.
• Ensure a welcoming, inclusive store environment and compliance with policies and safety procedures.
