Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking an outside sales professional for a local Gaylord, MI territory. You will own end-to-end relationships with independent accounts, driving new business and expanding existing accounts.

The role offers a base salary and rewards through commissions and bonuses, with a supportive, high-performing team culture. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in a B2B outside sales role in foodservice, plus 2+ years in restaurant leadership roles or similar.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6–12 months of sales, marketing and/or restaurant experience.
• 2+ years of B2B outside sales in foodservice preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Generates additional business through analyzing sales territory and customers; sample products with existing and potential customers; plan general sales strategy and territory management.
• Grows sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis to meet established sales and margin goals.
• Sets up new customer accounts by determining pricing; coordinates with Credit Department for initial authorization and scheduling deliveries; follows up on orders.
• Ensures customer satisfaction with exemplary service; coordinates with other center personnel to prevent and resolve issues; may make deliveries in emergencies.
• Builds additional business with current customers through product penetration to maximize profitability of accounts.
• Minimizes accounts receivable problems by monitoring credit terms and following up on issues.
• Maintains awareness of pricing trends within the territory to ensure competitive pricing.
